Lewers St. in Honolulu is named after this prominent business man of Lewers & Cooke Company.
Hotel:  Former home of Robert Lewers; Honolulu’s only “Five Diamond” hotel.
Originally built by Lewers as a 5 acre beachfront estate with 5 bungalows.  In 1930, new owners tore down the old Lewers home and replaced it with a plantation-styled mansion.  In 1981, it was resold, and new owners demolished the bungalows, expanded and rebuilt the property into an oasis of luxury - a “House be-fitting Heaven” with the grace and dignity of old Hawaii.  The refurbished mansion serves as the hotel’s primary dining and gathering place.
